    Dumay:

    Congrats on 2001 !

This is one of the images that looks much better than the thumbnail, and a pleasant surprise when opened. The bird is sharp, nicely exposed, neat pose, but it is the streaked background adding a real sense of speed to the image that really sets it off for me.

I never think of herons as being very speedy, but this guy looks it!

Thanks for your participation, fine photos and insightful comments.

    Cheers

Sweet image Dumay! Awesome light and colours and excellent tech. If anything maybe a bit too big in the frame.

This capture is not what I expected from viewing the thumbnail AT ALL! So sharp and such detail. Love the sense of speed created here. Lovely light. Wouldn't mind a tad more room.

Dumay, congrats and thx for sharing so many wonderful shots from your neck of the woods.

loved this one...top-side view is excellent...so is the light and the details. good call on all the techs. A little room around will help but am liking the tightness as well. The HA really makes a big difference here.

As others I love the sense of speed and the overall IQ. Comp a bit tight, but very well done...quite an appealing image.

Congrats on 2K1!!! Your participation here on BPN is much valued and appreciated

Congrats again. Good DOF across the wingspread, and you have nailed the sharpness. Colours on the heron look spot on, as do the BG colours. Im sure this will look really big in print.

This is really nice. It really pops from the BG and has a real nice 3d look to it.
I agree just a bit more room all around.

Great sharpness and as others have said, the background really makes the heron pop.

Great image to celebrate your milestone, Dumay. Perfectly sharp where it counts and just a hint of blur on the wing tips and streaky BG results in a great feeling of motion. Congratulations.
