Hi All
Thought this image taken earlier this month could be a candidate for editing with Topaz Adjust presets.
Image details: Taken just after sunrise
Pentax K10D with Tamron 70-300 @ 300 mm.
ISO 400, Minus 0.5 EV. Shade Setting.
1/250 sec @ F5.6.
Editing included Topaz Spicify a preset of Topaz Adjust.
Comments always welcome.

Beautiful lighting on this one, Ian...those first few minutes of that early morning glow is undoubtedly my favorite time of day, with or without a camera in hand! Nice job handling the exposure and processing with the mix of dark shadow and the snow fields...to my eye there seems to be a bit of noise in the sky...a bit of NR might help...I like what you've done with this image in processing, and it has the potential for several different perspectives with various Topaz filters...nicely done!
Ian, Great to see you posting again. I love the light on the mountain and the Topaz Adjust Spicify really brought out some interest. I agree w/ John regarding the noise. The snow adds interest. This must have been amazing in person.
Here is a tip from Topaz Labs regarding noise:
TOPAZ NOISE PROBLEM
So there is actually a very quick and easy way to eliminate this harsh effect. Once you’ve finished your adjustments in the exposure tab, go to the detail tab and make any desired adjustments there. At the bottom of the Detail Tab you will notice a checkbox – Process Details Independent of Exposure. By checking this option, you can maintain the color and exposure enhancements in your image, but your image details will be processed separately and this will instantly cleanup harshly affected areas of your image. In addition to improving the appearance of water and skies, using this checkbox can also help minimize halos, grain or noise-like effects, grit and grunge. This is a great way to tone down the effects of stronger presets in the program.
After making adjustments in the Detail tab, move onto the Color tab and make your desired enhancements here. If you still notice additional (smaller patterns) of grain or noise in your image, you can then go to the noise tab and use the sliders here to eliminate it.
Beautiful composition, Ian. I like the flowing lines of the mountains and that wonderful light. The colors and the snow adds a lot to the image. Very nice processing and great suggestion from Denise on Topaz. You could even select Denoise option in the noise section of Adjust. The new version of Denoise have better algorithm. Typically Topaz suggests using Denoise first in the workflow before going into adjust so as to start with a clean image. In this case the shadows and darker sky invariably has a bit of noise to start with. Thanks for sharing.
I really like the colors and composition. I agree about noise reduction. I read what Denise mentioned on Topaz website a week ago and already used that technique on one image. In the past I just ran Noiseware on my images after Adjust. I still prefer it to DeNoise, it's simpler and faster to use
Thanks John, Denise, Indranil & Judy
Denise: Really appreciate the detailed Topaz advice. Maybe one day you'll be putting out a book using all the best from the Topaz Webinars or possibly a DVD.
Judy: Like you I am a continued fan of Imagenomic Noiseware although I sometimes prefer Noise Ninja.
Anyway the "Detail" setting in adjust did add a nice bit of snap to the image and then Noiseware on landscape setting.
Tried to sharpen just a touch of sharpness but artefacts unacceptable in my eyes !!!!
Anyway here is my re-edit.
Cheers: Ian Mc
The repost rocks. Very painterly. Nice design and light.

Thanks Artie Although I like the fine tuning with Topaz Detail and the sharpening with Topaz Infocus it is the "painterly" effects of Topaz Adjust and others which stretch the imagination for a different look. Cheers: Ian Mc
