I created this image of a half dead Tulip because I often like the added interest that age adds to things. I used Nik Color Efex high key filter to add a bit more high key to the already high-key capture. I also added Nik Glamour Glow and retained some of the details via a layer mask. I originally was going to do a texture overlay but I really just liked the simplicity of this.

ps, I'll be back later to comment on others...gotta run.

Denise, this is so elegant; great stem line, love the translucent appearance of the petals; all the soft textures and curves in the decaying bloom...good call on the combination of the high key and glow, nice job of bringing in just enough detail. Don't think I'd change a thing...it's like a watercolor.

    Denise,

Gorgeous processing. You can just about feel the texture of that flower with your eyes. Beautiful colors and beautifully captured. If I wanted to be really picky I would wish for the larger petal sticking out from the left to be a bit more in focus at the tip.

Denise, very pretty! Love the "wing span". There is a bright area in the center, that might use some more detail, but it's really a nit. Well done, great feeling of light.

This is beautiful, Denise!! Very elegant and flowing. I love the soft colors and details. If it were mine I might lighten the stem a bit because I feel like it's drawing attention away the flower itself. Very nicely done!

All been said, Denise, simple, elegant, and like the subtle color against the white BG. Aging and decay can make very intersting subject matter for photography, and you chose a good subject here. I think Christopher does have a point regarding lightening the stem. Nice work!

If age adds interest then I must be fascinating! But seriously, this is really nice Denise. I just love that background color and the flower is indeed very interesting. Your signature look of softness plus detail is lovely as always.

Denise, you manage to make dying flowers look gorgeous! The only think I'd change is Christopher's suggestion re lightening the stem. Beautiful soft colors. Perfect position of the flower. I love it as it, and think adding a texture would also look great.

Beautiful image, Denise - I like everyone about it. I had to laugh at Kerry's comment - it was the first thing I thought of when I saw your description.
