    Default Chobe veld fire sunset

We were on the Chobe river in Botswana. A huge veld fire was rageing on the Namibian side of the river and the whole scene was hazy with the dramatic colours. An elephant was conveniently on the scene.

Love the hazy mood & colour here Ben, Sept is always their burning month on the Namib side ........put to good use here.
Might be tempted to darken the ele a tad

Awesome scene, esp with the story to go along with it. I think your photo would have been more powerful had you been able to photograph from a lower angle and get the elephant's silhouette in the sky. Darkening the elephone in this capture may be helpful to increase it's impact.

Ben, I like the setting here, and the colours work well. I may be tempted to take a little off the bottom, and agree, creating a silhouette of the ellie will also work. Cheers.

Lovely mood you captured Ben...I agree darkening the elephant is needed as it's just not popping off the image like it needs to. Of course having it etched against that crimson sky would have been first prize
