Another tern image from earlier this year. I was a bit frustrated that the border of the land and water in the background bisected the bird.

Fine image nonetheless. Great flight angle, and I love the drape of the catch.

Superb image! Sharp with excellent exposure control. Would prefer to see the bird slightly smaller in the frame with more room on the sides.

Beautiful light, pose, SH, EXP, and light. If only you have been six inches taller... Where?

    Thanks all.

Artie, this was on the dutch island of Texel. It is still a great place for terns and avocets, and a variety of other birds, but apparently it used to be even better. Previously the terns nested on small islands in pools that were easily accessible and well within 300-400mm range. A few years ago more gravel islands were added, and subsequently the birds have moved back and no longer nest so close. This would not be a huge problem as they would still be in 500-600mm + TC range, but the issue is now those original islands that act as a block and prevent ground level shots being taken.

Ofer and Mital, I actually have a little more room above and to the left, but would need to add canvas to the right.
