    Default Fighting for a Gull.

    Attached Images Attached Images

I was watching as one of the Eagles attacked a Gull.
I wanted to go closer, but my wife was highly against it.
But when a first year old attacked a third year old holding the Gull in the air, I had to jump out from the car and take at least a few document shots.
Sorry for the quality but I thought I would share it with you for the sake of action.
All happened on the beach of Conneaut.
    Thanks for looking.

What an incredible moment you captured. I am so glad you didn't listen to your wife! Why did she not want you to take any pictures of this drama in the sky?

Stellar action. Would be interested in knowing the species of gull in the image.

Great interaction Karl, it's tough to get a shot with three birds interacting and sharp, 99% of the time they just come out like this, but you nailed the action.

Why was your wife against you getting the images?

    Did the gull get away?
    Thanks Gail.
When I spotted the Eagle, it was on the ground standing on the Gull and the Gull was still kicking.
    I started driving towards and my wife told me to stop;
"Don't go closer, let the Eagle finish the Gull quickly, so it won't suffer too long"
I stopped but then the other Eagle came and the one on the ground took off with the Gull.
The Gull was eventually dropped but it was dead by then.
One Eagle left, the other stayed with the Gull.
We left shortly after as my wife doesn't like this kind of things.
I have to respect her feelings.
It was a bit painful for me to miss an opportunity like this but at least I got a few far away shots.

If eagles could talk, then I'm sure they'd have said to the gull, "Please don't take this personally."
