I got to playing around with a shot I took of a brugmansia bloom. Original in peach color. Kind of "way out" for me, but I kind of like the colors. Too many steps to keep up with but polarized, hue changes and curves were involved.

Hi Hazel, First off, good for you for experimenting. Love the colors and the concept behind this. If this were mine, I would add a bit of canvass to the left to give the flower some breathing room on that side. I'm not so sure about LLC purple leaf, I might also try a look without it.
I do like the hanging "POSE" of the flower. You've got a lot going on in the frame, hopefully others can add some additional feedback. I think you are on to something here.......

I thought it was a new hybrid! I have these in my yard and have taken many pedestrian images of the blooms...this has inspired me to think a bit out of the box

Hazel, I am loving the colors! I'm wondering if because this is a square crop you might have a bit more room on the left as Jay suggests. But if you have more room all around maybe try to rotate the image and have the flower coming more out of the corner. Just a thought. You have already inspired one person to think OOTB and you have given me a few new ideas to play with. Thanks!

Thanks for the comments so far. I am greatly encouraged, and I did indeed have fun "playing." I think the tightness came from trying to make a square crop out of a too-close photo, so I added just a bit of canvas and then went with 8x10 and cleaned it up a bit more. Better?

I don't think I have enough photo available for the rotation, but it's a great idea for future shots.

Hazel, good job of thinking outside the box for this one. The colors are great! I like the repost for the extra space on the left. Reminds me of the old black light posters...
