    Default Semipalmated Plover

    Attached Images Attached Images

Our beach is quite a mess from Irene as Artie described in one of his blogs. The other day there were hundreds if not thousands of semipalmated plovers resting in the debris washed up by the storm. My challenge was to create an image that incorporated some of it in a pleasing way. This is my favorite from that attempt.

As always, thank you for looking at my pictures and for any comments that you offer. I appreciate them all.

This is a very pleasing image, Grace.

The storm artifacts add a lot of interest.

Love the lower perspective and comp.

I like it. I like the debris and the little sand hills and texture of the sand.

    I like this one Grace.

I really like the nice low angle with him being above you. I like the inclusion of the debris as I think it adds to the subject. Wondering about toning down the stick just a bit though as it does draw my eye away from the subject.

    Thanks for sharing.

Grace, I think your comp works well, as the plover is well placed in the frame. Good angle from the plover, and just enough seaweed to add interest. Lovely complimentary colour to the BG too. Seeing the feet would be a winner - but you knew that.

I love your composition here ,Grace. I agree about toning the white branch down. I like the undulation in the sand and the vegetation. I love the low angle but wish I could see the little guy's feet. Perfect techs (as usual),

OMG i just loved this. Have seen plenty of portraits of same bird on net and i just love this bird when they wear their breeding coats.
you have added the part of habitat and that works for me a lot . loved the balance of framing.

this is my fav bird and wish to see in field one day (impossible in my part though)

Very handsome comp - glad Irene left something useful in her wake. Excellent techs. Feet would put it over the top.

Feet or no feet , this is one of your best ever.!!!! Just a matter of taste , but I would crop just a bit off the right side. Only my 2 cents.

Hey Grace, great composition and low angle. The feet don't bother me. I could go for a little bit more contrast though. Overall a fine image!

I like this alot. The only thing that could have made it better would have been for the plover to move forward a step or two. Very pretty image!

Fantastic shot Grace the details and low angle are great and the inclusion of the plant really anchor the size of these birds a very nice composition.
