    Another image from Monterey Bay... I had taken this image in the morning with overcast sky with a setting of 1/2000 sec, f/6.3, Exp comp +2/3 and ISO 3200. For processing used Topaz Denoise and Adjust. Also applied adjustment layers for saturation and selective colors. Hope you like it...

    Indranil, Nice head turn and I love the artistic reflection. Maybe just a bit more pop to the Pelican.

    Thanks Denise. The morning gloom was a bit too much and I did push the pop in Topaz Adjust but not enough. Here is a repost...

    Indranil,

    Greetings. The reflection is great... I particularly like the detail in the reflected head.

    With this type of image where the background is closer at the bottom but flat in tone, I like to add a little darkening (darker at the bottom in a gradient to about the middle of the image)... gives a bit of 3D to the image...

    Just a thought.

    Cheers,

    -Michael-

    I like the REFL better than the bird. Sometimes we just cannot overcome that murky light. The repost is better but still lacking.

    Indranil, Even before I saw Art's comments, I was thinking the bird was missing something. It does look like the the lighting is just a bit flat. You might try some light balancing/contrast work and see if that would help. The framing looks great, as does the water silken water with reflection.

    Thanks all. I appreciate it. Just as Artie said, sometimes we cannot overcome that murky light ... what caught my attention was the artistic reflection. Would have been great to get both right....

    Hi Indranil;

    Back in town...catching up....the reflection in this image is pretty awesome. The repost is a major improvement, but as mentioned elsewhere the pelican still needs jut a bit of "snap"...but it ain't half-bad as it is! Hope to see more of your pelicans in flight.
