    Default Dusk Duck

Another one from Cleveland, two years ago, never processed.
It was 5:45 pm or so, and the sun was just below the tree line, so the light was very soft and low, just the right conditions to show the subtle color details on a wood duck drake

The water color in this one isn't as nice as my previous wood ducks, but I was pleased at the subtle color palette visible on the duck because of the soft light.

    Thoughts and comments always appreciated

    Cheers

Beautiful colors, detail and light. Might as well not even try to photograph these ducks in less than ideal light, too much gets lost. There is a tiny little spot on his forehead (water drop?) that keeps pulling my eye away from his eye.

Gorgeous all the way around! Really like seeing all the blue on the back. Wondering if he needs a tiny boost in color, but it may just be the soft light.

Beautiful soft light, great colors and iridescence. Perfect head turn. A very handsome portrait. I long for an opportunity to get a Wood Duck in range.

Randy - a perfect portrait that shows the subtle colours of this species - something that gets lost in bright light. I might try calling in the Doctor and working on the eye a bit - the glare in the upper half is a bit distracting.

Itt will take a while for me to take my eyes of this one. Just love the sheer riot of colours here and the way they have been rendered by you.
