This pad took on a velvety look with "burned" brown spots. I used Topaz Adjust and Magic Bullet Photo Looks.

This is actually the one I meant to upload!
Hi Judy;
I kind of like that you posted both....it gives me an idea of where you started and the direction you took from there. If it were mine, I'd brighten it JUST a smidge...see how the OP has that little bit of crispness..and that cool, almost mercurial look to the water in the middle of the pad? That's just me...and I'm just talking out loud! Thanks for sharing this series!
Hi Judy.........
Great series, as John said. Wonderful colors as ususal. Black BG really pops the pad. I find these guys a challenge to shoot because of their depth. Your focus point appears to be just a tad behind the center of the pad. Leaving the front of the pad a bit soft. Next time you are in the field consider focusing about 1/3 of the way into the pad, with as small an aperture as you can muster..........this may help extend the DOF of these well seen images of yours. Others may have a different point of view..............Let's see.![]()
Thanks John! It was actually darker than that when I used the Green Pearl photo look and I brightened it a bit but I'm willing to brighten it more...
Thanks John! The front part of the pad was underwater. But that's a good point about focusing 1/3 of the way in and I often do that. Can't say for sure if I did it on this one. I'd have to check the aperture and see what gives. I shoot many of them late, just before sunset so probably used a wider aperture.
Judy..good one! I didn't realize the underwater part.....................Do you remember Gilda Radner, on Saturday Night Live, she did this news editorial bit at the end when she realized she was off course, she would say...........Never mind! Well, I was bit off course on this one..............Anyway, keep the pads coming, they are lot of fun!

Hi Judy, an excellent series and this one no exception. I see the point on DOF that Jay makes... wonderful colors and processing.
Thanks Jay, and I goofed too when I called you John! I do remember Gilda, she was one of my favorite performers on SNL.
Thanks Indranil!
Judy, I like the second one, it seems a little less contrasty. Good points by all. I think you have shown us these pads in so many different ways. I like the dark BG and the water drop in the center.![]()
Hi Judy! Interesting unique series! This is one of my favorites.....love the water droplets....good suggestions above!
Judy, the 2nd one looks great - I like the velvety look and the dark background.![]()

Judy, I was getting into a groove with the first image and then scrolled down to the second one... I think it's great that you posted a before/after pair. I do like the second one better, with the nice dark bg and softer edges.

I too prefer the second one. By miles. The colors are richer.
