    Great detail there and subtle colors. Very course feathers, almost like shingles.

    This is a new bird for me. I like the alert pose and the sharpness (although I might back off a little on the sharpening). I'd consider lightening the head and toning down the earth mound just a bit, as the sun angle is less than ideal.

    Real nice shot. I really like the pose along with background. Nice feather detail but does look a tad over sharpened. Well done.

    Very interesting bird in a nice alert pose. I agree with Doug about toning down the mound. I'm not sure if the bird is over-sharpened or if it has very course feathers, or both. In any case I might try to tone down the glare on the breast a bit. Lovely background and nice low angle.
