    Default Red-necked Phalarope

Saw Daniel's thread and thought I would post one of my own. I also had not seen a Red-necked before so it was nice to get to photograph this species. This juvenile was captured at a local creek mouth which had about 30 other phalaropes swimming farther away.

    Handheld, small crop, CW rotation.

    Fantastic image, Aidan!
Great detail and composition. The two-tone background and calm water looks really nice.

Don't take this personally but this is beyond superb. The placement of the bird in the exact perfect spot with regards to the strips of exquisite color put this one way over the top. That and the killer wake. See you out there in April!

Superb is a good word for this image! Personally I am not 100% sure about the composition with the head so close to the centre of the frame.

Excellent image Aidan!! The composition is perfect as is...I don't worry about the head placement in the frame but rather the subject as a whole, so this is top notch comp Glad this species is making happy photographers at opposite ends of the continent!

Aidan, one of your best to date. Excellent IQ, colours and sharpness, and the BG puts this over the top. Congrats on a fine image.

What an amazingly gorgeous image. The colors are so soothing and the detail is over the top. Excellent head position and beautiful light as well as that awesome water movement. I would most certainly hang this one in my house (and say it was mine AHHHH just kidding!)
