    Default Rainy Day

I took this shot on last tuesday shortly after arriving to the beach of Conneaut Ohio.
It was raining on and off but had five Bald Eagles which is a rare treat.
My wife said two were adults but I don't really know.
    Thanks for looking.

This guy is definitely a juvenile. I like the pouring rain, the windblown look and the bits of rock at his feet. I would do a round of sharpening on the head and I wish he was looking a bit more towards us. A terrific unusual shot none the less,
    Gail

    Hi Karl,

Basically I agree with Gail, although I rather like that head angle as the bird seems to be peering up into the rain and looking annoyed. I would wish for a bit more detail in the whites around the bird. But I agree - an unusual and interesting image overall.

I know it's not always possible, but getting down really low to the ground would have helped minimize the strongly lit ground and also prevented the light streak from crossing the eagle's head. I love the rain here, and the feet half sunken in the mud. The wet plumage adds to the overall miserable conditions (in a good way). A better HA would have been super. Great opportunity you had, very neat.

Rain sweet. Needs more contrast. I blackened the BLACKs in Selective Color, sharpened the bird, and lightened the face. As far as the head angle, it would have been a lot better had the bird been looking at the rain to its left rather than to its right....

I like the re-edit Artie, cool shot Karl.. the white water distracts, and a lower angle would be awesome, but not always possible.

Thanks Karl, Contrary to popular opinion you need to study it and practice the techniques. Placing your laptop under your pillow with the PDF open does not work!
