Does this work ? A follow up to a previous post of the lioness cub 'playing' with this Banded Mongoose. I havent cropped off any more leg, but as my focus was on the mongoose, I didnt manage much more of the cub. Through all the excitement, I could have zoomed out, but then the mongoose would have been smaller in the frame.

Hi Stuart, fantastic image, very dramatic and powerful. Great detail on the mongoose and I like the slight motion blur on the lions paw adding animation to the image. Great timing.

Such a sad moment here Stu - the expression on the mongoose's face speaks volumes and these moments tend to grip us as photographers yet we also want to look away .
I agree with Rakesh and will personally kick your behind if you don't enter this into one of the big competitions next year!! .

Perhaps play around with levels to brighten it overall?

Very unique image! Love the look on the mongoose and the little bit of blur in the paw. Maybe just a tad lighter.

Personally this image has outright won my heart. I still wonder How you controlled yourself. With me when such drama happens in fron o me i just stop clicking and just watch to take in what is happening. The finger just freezes . superb all through.

Thank you all so much for the positive feedback. I was worried that showing only a part of the cub's leg spoilt the image.

Love it, love it! I love the motion of the paw and the look on the mongooses face. Incredible drama and story. I might brighten this a tiny bit-otherwise perfect!
