    This 1949 Hudson has been sitting in my parents back yard for over 30 years. I have never really thought about shooting them until this past week. I was playing around with the 15mm fisheye and this perspective caught my eye as the clouds matched the rounded shape of the Hudson.

    Canon 5DII, three shot HDR +-2 stops, process in Photomatix with tweaked Grunge settings, Canon 15mm, iso 200, f7.1, 1/200 sec for middle exposure.

    All comments welcome.

    Hey bud. Good to see you here! How is Robin?

    I love the image, especially the way that the cloud frames the car (due not doubt to your choice of perspective). You needed to move back 3 inches so as to give us a bit more room on the right of the vehicle. Handheld or tripod?

    Hi Patrick, beautifully done, love the colors and the grunge look too! Agree on a smidge more room on the right.

    Hey Artie! Hope you are well. Robin is doing great...thanks for asking.

    Thanks for the suggestion. I was trying to keep some distracting stuff out of the left side, and did not notice the right getting too tight. It was shot using a tripod after handholding the lens to find the best location. Probably could have worked handheld as well.

    Great effect with the fisheye, Patrick, and the HDR work looks great on the car. Nicely composed, and love the contrast of vibrant warm and cool colors. Also agree on a bit more room on rt., and I might lighten the clouds some.

    Hi Patrick, always enjoy your images and wish you would post more! Anyway, good to see you here. I really like this perspective and your processing - nice technical work in the image. I think this really illustrates the term "fat fender".

    Triopds with a bubble level are always best with the fisheye. If you need to rotate after the fact you wind up losing a big chunk of the image. Kerry is right: post more! Both here and in Avian. Did you ever post your killer Dark-billed Cuckoo from the Galapagos?

    Patrick, Hi nice to see you posting in OOTB-say hi to Robin! Hope to see you guys again soon. Are you going to Bosque this year? Anyway I love ,love, love this one. The fisheye was a perfect choice and Artie makes a good suggestion regarding the right and the bubble level. Clouds and processing are killer- so is that bumper!!

    Hi Patrick;

    I'll echo what others have said...it's a wonderful image, with great color, a tight composition, excellent processing and good use of the fish-eye lens. Artie does make a good point about adding more canvas to the RHS...and, at least for me, I'd like to see a bit more at the bottom as well, just to give the bumper a bit more room. Nicely done!

    Hi Patrick! I like this image alot . I especially like the way the chrome bumper was processed. Nice work with that fisheye! A bit too tight but not a deal breaker for me. Would like to see more of your work! TFS

    Your choice of lens was perfect for this image. Love the way the clouds curve over the curved car. Beautiful light! Stunning colors. Excellent processing. I wonder what it would look like with a little less black in the clouds and with the utility poles/fence posts cloned out?
