The original bird is a Pigeon Guillemot which is an overall black bird with dusky wing linings. I applied PB oil, Topaz adjust color blast, & Topaz clean crisp style, with varying opacities plus curves. Photographed at the Newport Aquarium in Oregon.
Nancy, I love the head shake and the water that is in mid air. It looks like it might need a slight rotation. Do you have any more room on top and right? Great timing and the filtering looks good, maybe try to reveal a tiny bit more detail to the right wing.
Nancy, Denise makes good suggestions, RE room on the top and right, rotation and detail....I really like the effect that PB had on this image. Good composition...there is a brighter spot in the ULC that I might blend in a bit as well. Wonderful feeling of movement...like that the eye is so "fixed" in the rotation/shaking of the duck's head. Nicely done!
Great feather shake pose you captured, Nancy, and love the way the drops and ripples came out with your filtering. Good suggestions above, and nicely done!
Thanks, everyone. I have no more room either top or right, as there is a huge pale rock overhead. I would have to create more canvas. I also tried to reduce the brightness in the ULC but then I lost all the water streaks and it looked unbalanced.
