Geometric Shadows

I stopped at a local government building in Gainesville that used to be a luxury hotel in the early 1900's. It was the middle of the day and there were plenty of opportunities for shadows. This started out as a 3 image HDR. Then I used Topaz B&W (I really love this tool) using Painterly Color blended with luminosity. Then Nik Color Detail Stylizer Weird Lines at a very low strength (Thanks Kerry for the idea - imitation is the sincerest form of flattery)

Perfect for the theme! I like the subtle contrast of the squiggley textures with the geometric lines, and the strong clear light. One rarely looks for a photo opportunity in midday. Good eye sight and imagination!

Cheryl, Great eye for this one. I love what you did with the filtering. The colors of the shadows on the building combined w/ the filtering is a home run! I might sharpen the door handles and I do wish the black light fixture were not there but WOW I am going to try this....

I agree, Chreyl, great job on this! Love the shadows, lines and geometric patterns. Very nicely seen and all the elements and filtering really work well together to create very pleasing composition. Like the glow of the door and it acts as an image anchor with the lines leading to it.

Thanks everyone. I appreciate it I noticed a piece of moss hanging from the ceiling after I posted (why is that) which I'll remove. Also the white arrow on the door but I think I like it and will leave it there.

Excellent choice for the theme! Lots of geometric forms in this image. Love the effect of them, in the structures and the shadows. You did an excellent job of using the mid-day sun to good effect. Nice warm colors and processing. The only distraction for me is the color or tone of the window on the left--it clashed with the warm tones of the rest of the image.
