An ephemeral pool left over from the recent hurricane, on a grassy spot on Sandy Hook, attracted scores of shorebirds in search of an easy meal.

Good work taking advantage of the opportunity provided by the storms.

The feeding/prey item really neat, good shooting angle.

Looks just a smidge bright for me. Was this much of a crop? The IQ seems just a bit soft.

    Cheers

This is about 70% of full frame. I see what you mean, though. When I blow it up it seems as if there is just a bit of noise on the bird that may be compromising the IQ.

I like the scene you got here, the worm really adds alot. The habitat is nice. Do you have mmore right and bottom? I just find the yellowlegs big in the frame (although I can understand you wanted to put the feeding behaviour into better evidence by the tight crop). I'd also eliminate the dark spot below the butt.

Thanks Randy and Daniel. Here's a repost that makes some adjustments to brightness and contrast to bird and BG, and removes the dark spot, and hopefully makes a minor improvement to the IQ. Unfortunately I don't have any room to the right, and this one would be difficult to add canvas to. I had some room at bottom but there was an oof dark blob just below my crop that I wanted to get rid of. I do agree the bird is just a little large in the frame.
