I was so enthralled of how the cats of Africa are so comfortable devouring their meals in the open right next to the vehicles. The intermittent stare this young lioness gave us kind of attracted my attention and tried to capture that. Hope it has worked. Hence the tight crop. Also i did not remove the blades of grass on top of the head as i felt it framed the head. Some day I am still dreaming of doing this with the tigers and leopards of India.

Ramesh, great eye contact from the lioness, and the tight comp shows off the feeding behaviour nicely. I agree, with shots like this, you have to leave the surrounding grasses as is.

Great IQ Ramesh, and those eyes what a stare, moment well captured ! I too like the tight crop and inclusion of the grasses.

Very dramatic! Like the look in the lions eyes and the red and white of the bone really stands out.

    Ramesh,

The tight framing and vertical format just perfect here. I would suggest lightening the image using a Levels adjustment and then adding contrast using a mild s-curve. The image is somewhat flat.
