Default George Lake Reflection in Killarney Provincial Park, Ontario

Playing around with Topaz B&W Effects. I really like the detail slider in this program. It seems to give a bit of HDR-ish look to images. For this one I also adjusted the 'transparency' slider to bring back a smidge of the color in the original capture.

    Look forward to comments.

Andrew, you continue to impress me with your images. I really like this one...the processing as well as the photograph...and you're right, you've created something very similar to an HDR effect. Love the texture and details in the trees and the shoreline...the play of light between the aspen, the hardwoods, and the fir trees...it's just an outstanding image. I'd love to see the original as well. My only thought would be to trim a bit off the bottom...moving the shoreline closer to the 1/3 mark and creating almost a panorama from it...just a thought. Nicely done!

I love it Andrew! It does have an HDR feel to it. I agree w/ John a slice off the bottom to eliminate the slightly OOF reflection area. It looks like it needs an ever slight rotation..maybe? I love the small detail and the conversion. Great work with the filter program!!

This is excellent, Andrew. Love the look and slight colors coming from the B&W adjustment. Another vote for taking a slice of the bottom. Nicely done.

Hi Andrew, I downloaded that plugin a few days ago and haven't really gotten into it yet but it looks really nice. I love what you did with this image, and might suggest just a tiny bit more of the original color. Love the detail and interesting reflection. I'm feeling just a bit of CCW rotation.

Andrew....the detail is amazing! It has a really cool unique look! How does the Topaz program compare to Silver efex? I agree about cropping from the bottom. Great work!....Impressive B&W!

Love the detail, and think the small amount of color works well. Agree a slight CCW rotation is needed and a slice from the bottom as well.

Is this with the new program? (I am not very up on this stuff.) IAC, the detail and texture in the image are killer. I'd love to see a 1/3, 1/3, 1/3 version with a good chunk cropped off the bottom.

Thanks folks for the comments and suggestions, very much appreciated.

John, I'll post the original in Landscapes upon my return from Lake Superior at the end of the week.

Bob, I think the Silver Efex will remain my main plugin for B&W conversion, but the BW Effects has some nice features about it also and for $29.99 the price is right.

Thanks Arthur, yes it is the new program. I'll try your 1/3 crop suggestion upon my return from Lake Superior at the end of the week. Too busy getting ready to head out in the morning. I have about a 10 hour drive to reach the provincial park.
