This fantastic specimen was perched on a bush . It suddenly swooped on the ground ....maybe to pick up an insect . Luckily the ground was almost at eye level wrt to our jeep window .

    Rakesh:

Lovely fellow, sharp, well exposed, good shooting angle.

The image is just a bit bright overall on my monitor. I might also consider a small crop down from the top. His long line lends itself to more of a pano crop.

    Very nice.

    Cheers

What a gorgeous creature, and I love the pose and colors. I agree with Randy on taking some off of the top and trying a different comp to see if it helps to accentuate your bird and it's pose. I also find your capture too bright. I took it into PS and did a multiply layers at 25% and it really did a lot to the overall look of this picture.

Did exactly that ...multiply layer @ 25% . Thanx for pointing out Marina and Randy . I found it bright on my work laptop , but on my callibrated monitor , it looked fine . Let me know if this looks ok .

I think that definitely looks better!
Would like to see more of a pano crop too.
    Beautiful shot!

Repost is killer, Rakesh. Light, colors, eye contact - all superb. Bird placement towards the right side in the frame works very well, but this might work even better with a good bit cropped from the top as others have mentioned.
Looking forward to more from your trip.

Good job on the repost Rakesh but would consider some different crops to bring more focus on your subject.

I like what Randy's saying about a pano crop, and I'd take it into consideration, but it's not as if your original crop were so very far off the mark. The bird's looking up, not just across, and your high crop gives the roller something to look into. But I'm betting that a more panoramic crop would look great too. You improved your shot of this gorgeous bird, this flying rainbow, in your repost, but the repost is a tad dark. Still, it's a lot closer to the mark than your original post, which was much too bright. Lovely BG too, by the way, and a good low angle.
