After having to wait two months canons end I have finally got the 1D MK 4. Wow serious stuff now. This is a 50% crop and the IQ still stands up I think. This camera is quite a step up from my 7d!

I went to a osprey nest site for my first test and towards the end of the day got a few images. It was hard to get sun angle and tree branches to come together on this one. For much of the time this osprey was pulling at the fish in its tallons with its head was behind the branch. Or it would look up but the breast would be obscured by the branch - finally it looked up and pulled back enough for everything to be in the clear.

    1d MK 4, 500mm + 1.4ext, 1/1000 @ 8, iso 640, EV +1.

    Thanks Tom

Good advice above. The Mark IV shouldn't have too much trouble with a 50% crop. Enjoy your new toy!!!
