Raul nice capture of this Sandhill. The palcement left to right in the frame is good but I might have wishes to see the bird a little lower down from the top. Perhaps a crop of the bottom might help.
Just the mentioned crop Rail !!! Fine image Excellent wing position and colors !!! Wish the sun was more from you back to eliminate the shadow Excellent image !!!!
Did you darken the edges of the sky? It looks a little like vignetting, but off center - either that or something that makes the bird have a slight glow. Hard to put my finger on it, but it is more noticed in the thumbnail. I like the effect, but it might be over done a touch.
Thanks for comments.
Stephen & Alfred, I try a different cropping as per your recommendation and if I place the bird at one third of the frame (as I should have done in the first place) it improves the image.
Jim,
The effect you are seeing is the effect of the masking technique I am using. I normally run noise reduction s/w to the background. To create a mask on Elements I select the sky, then invert the selection and finally apply a Gaussian blur to the selection. The blur on the selection reduce the hard transitions but create this undesirable effect.
