    All the Sandpipers I see here have it better than the ones who live around here.
    They all seem to have nice water, sandy beaches, etc.
    This is the habitat for Least Sandpipers here, and you have to get down in it, to photograph them

    But mud = food Dan so it's heaven for them! I like the action in the image with the bird moving to the left. Subject is nice and sharp. Overall I think you could lighten up the image some, particularly the the bird's head. A small CCW head turn would have been ideal.

    Lovely action shot in bird's environment. I wish the head was turned more towards the viewer. Good low angle (how muddy did you get?!!) and the splashes of green really help tone down the mud,
