This image was taken at Nickerson's at 7:01 a.m. I wasn't sure what to do with the bubble at the fish's head, so I left it there. mk IV, 800 f5.6, iso 800, 1/1250, f5.6 shot manual from gitzo/wimberley while standing.

Killer BKGR and a great look-back head angle. That is one ratty looking skimmer. BTW, on Monday morning we saw a total of only 4 Black Skimmers. It was very nice meeting you at the beach.

Love the lighting and the background, but what I love most is the look of this skimmer giving you

Cool! The glance back the skimmer is giving you makes the image for me. I wouldn't have seen any bubble if you hadn't mentioned it...even then I have trouble making it out!

    Herb:

The birds angle in the frame shows off both wings well, while the head turn back towards us really helps with the sense of contact here.

Nice light, background and prey. Well done. Bubble is a non factor at my viewing size.

    Cheers

I'm guessing they're heading southbound already. Nice to meet you as well Artie, I'm sure we'll meet again.

Good plan. I am not sure where they were headed.... We sometimes had large groups around NYC in DEC.....

Excellent shot! Sharp, good detail and exposure. Maybe some NR on the BG.
