Surrounding and background were not as clean as I like them to be but it is part of the habitat. Left it as is, did not do any clean up on the BG. These guys are too fast!!! In addition, it was so windy. I have never seen water this high at Ft. Desoto before.
30% chance rain, yeah right  Got caught in the down pour at the beach and my camera gear got drenched. Half and hour later, I was out shooting again. Weather resistant, heck ya! Lesson learned? Leaving your thinktank hydrophobia in the closet won't keep your gear dry.
    Hope you like it.

Really nice Troy, the water drop is a big plus, and the water texture the little guy is standing in is
really nice. DOF and details are great.

    Hello Troy,

Love the way the whites have been exposed by you here. also as mentioned the water droplet and low angle are a real boost. IMHO could this have been composed with little more space on the top than the bottom? Superbly done anyway.

Amazing shot loved the water droplet in the beak and the crystal clear waters.

Troy, I'm finding your little guy a bit bright. I'm wondering why the teleconverter was necessary; I've shot sanderlings at Canaveral National Seashore (New Smyrna Beach, Fla.) with half your focal length and got good results. The sanderlings of North America certainly are more approachable than those of Asia! Great low angle.

Nice low angle and ruffled feathers. Like the drop of water and the raised foot. Definitely too much foreground (oof) water for me.... I'd crop about 1/2 of it. A smidge more head angle towards us would have better lit the face and likely resulted in a nice catchlight.

Craig, not these group that I saw that morning. I was in the water, moving on my knees slowly, they just moved away everything I got closer.
My whites appeared ok on my monitor and set to 237.
