Nice image, Robert. I really like the pose with large water droplets in front. Exposure also looks good to me, and nice catchlight. Also great head-angle.
Looks to me like the image should be rotated clock-wise a bit, as the main wake in the water doesn't look straight. I think the post could do with some more sharpening, as the face & eye in particular don't seem quite sharp enough. How much of a crop was this post? Perhaps you could leave a bit more space around the bird, especially in front, as it feels slightly cramped.

Suggestions well taken. I made some changes and I agree, they're a little better.

Great suggestion given by Gordon and the re-post is much improve in my opinion. I might try to crop a bit tighter than the re-post, but not as much as the original. Good exposure, pose, angle of capture and the re-post look sharp :)

    Robert,

I like the repost, more room was needed IMO. Might take some off the bottom as well, all subject stuff. How large was the crop, some areas look a tad soft, for example head. Anyway, on balance a nice moment in nature. Thanks or sharing and keep em coming.

Hi Robert, nice capture and good job on the repost - looks much better. When you post an image please give us as much tech info as you can, i.e., metering mode, exposure mode, tripod or handheld, etc. Thanks!
