These guys are also known as Dassie's in South Africa, or rock Rabbits. They live in rocky outcrops and gather in large communities. Taken late afternoon.

    Hi Stuart,

Nice IQ and exposure against the blue sky. Reminds me of the sightings I get here at Malolotja of these guys, but we can't get as close as you managed.
A little late but nice to see you as a moderator, congratulations.

A mammal I still need a half-decent shot of, Stu. Lovely light and 'perch' here, with great IQ as usual :)

I like the graphic look of the perch and the clean, blue sky. A very unique composition that I like.

Very nice Stuart! Doesn't get much better than that! I too finally got my best Hyrax shots this year. Supposedly, they are related to elephants!

Stuart - well composed and captured. Nice to see one of Africa's smaller mammals represented.

Nice perch you got him on Stuart and I like how you got him to smile for you . Interesting to note all the "body whiskers" on this guy.
