    Hi Grahame;

    This image has a lot of strong visual elements...I think it might benefit from tightening the crop a bit. If it were mine, I'd crop it to just above the water drop on the center vein of the left hand petal...approximately 1/3 or so of the way up. It leaves you with an almost square crop, but IMHO - and that's all it is! - it strengthens an already good composition. Nice job seeing the possibilities in the tulip!

    As someone who likes soft images and wide apertures I'd actually like to see more DOF to make the petal completely sharp in this case. I do find the tips are close to the edge above, so either making this a little wider for more room above, or cropping closer as per John would be two options to explore. Lovely colours and I like the water drops, nice even lighting too.

    Hey Grahame,
    Glad to see Daniel chime in on the DOF......as I gnereally prefer more. Good catch on the room up top and nice suggestions by John too for you to consider in the field next time out.
