As soon as the sun hit the horizon the skimmers took flight just as Artie had predicted. We met up with fellow BPNers Herb Houghton and Michael Zajac and client/friend Deborah Lewinson. Artie's good friend Johann Schumacher was there photographing as well.

Denise, another in a great series of skimmer images. I love the pastel colors and the sense of movement...a very serene image, and the layers created by the sky, the grass, the beach and the water add a sense of depth. I might take just a little off the top...I am really enjoying this series. Have a great weekend!

Man,, talk about making soup from a stone. We had close to zero chances to make good images on Friday morning. Love the soft colors, the degree of blurring, and even the 3/4 facing away view. But my favorite part of the image is the blurred grasses on the dune line.

Hi Denise, this is really nice and a great example of a blastoff blur! I love the flurry of wings, muted tones, and bands of color and texture. Very nice!

Nice blur, Denise! One of these days, I'm going to have to head for the beach and try that.

Thank you all for the kind comments.
John I am still debating a little off the top. I'll probably take a sliver off. Thanks.

A lovely blur, Denise. This would make a beautiful print to hang in someone's home at the beach!

Hi Denise, great show of motion blur, and how the darker parts of the wings stand out. Love the sloping line of the grasses, together with the pastel sky. Well captured.
