With all of the fascinating insect images posted here recently, I though I'd offer a simple flower from Longwood Gardens. This Lisianthus flower was alone in one of the circular areas at the top of the brick flower walk. It caught my eye because of its simplicity. To obtain an equally simple background with good bokeh, I sat on a stone bench behind the flower and then shifted my position until I lined up a background that I thought would work.

Please tell me what you think of this flower.

Norm this is lovely and sharp as a tack. I would love to see it in a square format....of course it would have to be cropped.

I'll tell what I think - I think it is superb! I love the "texture" to the image and the delicate colour of the flowers and as you indicate a perfect background. - It rings my bell!

Simple and very well done. The BG and pedal color complement each other very well.

Elegant lines and subtle coloring, Norm...a winning combination. Nicely seen, nicely captured, nicely processed...I hope to see more!

    Hey Norm,
I think you did very well! Of course I wouldn't complain about a tighter version to but excellent job isolating agains the BG!
