Default Avocet in habitat and high ISO!

I made this shot a while ago, I though it was interesting because despite its appearance it was taken in very low light conditions. The low-noise and high DR image sensor in D3S allows for perfect tonal and color rendition in such low light conditions since no noise reduction is needed. This was still in winter time and Avocet is in breeding plumage.

Lovely shot. I have never seen this bird IRL and am looking forward to the day I do. The IQ of this image is amazing. Love the fanned tail and head on flight pose. Might take a bit more off the bottom,

Arash, a very nice and different BG and habitat shot from you.
The IQ is amazing with that iso.
    No noise reduction at all?
The bird colors go really well with the foliage.
Maybe one of my favorites of yours.

Hey Arash, thats pretty impressive with such a high ISO. Good head on capture, and the outspread wings, and dangling legs work well. I like the colours of the surrounding foliage.

great IQ. does not look like a high ISO shot at all. Very nice separation of the subject. loved that fanned tail and the habitat.

Love the straight on view and wide spread wings. I like the bg as well all but find myself drawn to the vegetation intersecting the right side wing. Gorgeous light and detail on this beautiful bird.

Hey Arash, wonderful pose, colors and setting. Love the dangling legs.
IQ is just amazing for iso 3200. Great camera no doubt, but I'm sure your skills have a lot to do with it.

Incoming pose, beautiful colors of the habitat, and light coming through the wings and fanned tail make this a real winner for me. Congrats for yet another fine image. I would never have guessed this was a high ISO, low light image.

Why, what's Arash shooting with now? Once I got my D3S, I never looked back. For an indication why, see Arash's shot, plus his explanation at the top of this thread. What I love about high-ISO cameras is that you can keep on shooting when all the other guys have gone home. At dusk and dawn, the advantage is particularly apparent.
