At Bombay Hook De the light was getting dim and i took one last shot before packing it up. I processed in LR with NR and then used Topaz Simplify , and Nik reflector and pro contrast to intensify the light on the water. Did I go too far?

It looks very good to me. I like the filter effects on the foliage, and the colors. The feet seem to disappear though.

Hi Bob..... I agree with Judy on the feet. This is just a fabulous shot of the bird in habitat. There are a couple of additional tweaks you might consider. Blend in that dark spot on the birds neck. And, try the scene without the grass on the right side and see if you like it better. or just maybe tone the grass down............Otherwise, great capture and processing.

Bob, this is a beautiful. I like your inclusion of the habitat. I would be tempted to tone down the white on the fish... well seen and processed!

Bob, great painterly effect...I agree with Indranil's comment about possibly toning down "supper" a notch...and, as noted by Jay, I might tone down the grass - particularly the two wind-swept groupings laying on the ground to the right of the egret - a bit as well...but both are minor points in a superb image...don't you just love it when you give that one last glance and end up with something like this? Great job!

Bob, Some great suggestions above. You did a wonderful job w/ the processing. Maybe just a sliver off the bottom.

Hi Bob, Nice job on creating a soft, painterly look. Good placement of the subject along with even lighting. I like the image as presented...

Bob, the bird really stands out from the surrounding habitat and I love that Aren't you glad you took one more shot?

Wonderful image. Love the grasses, mud, etc. Wonderful composition. My first thought was wishing for a bit of detail in the heron. Lovely work!

    Nice image and application, Bob.

I might be tempted to crop out the one light blade of grass over the bird, in the BG and turn the image into an panoramic format.

Image design superb. The effect on the grasses is both painterly and superb. The scruffy head, the too bright fish, and the sliver of bright grass behind the leg (that an easy fix) all leave me liking the habitat better than the bird.

No, the effect is subtle, you didn't go too far. Nice rendering.
