    Default Tricolored Heron by Audubon

This is an older image taken at the St. Augustine Alligator Farm. I converted to B&W in LR, then tried PB Oil Paint on it. I thought it looked like a B&W Audubon print for some reason

Thanks for looking. Comments and suggestions appreciated.

    Hi Cheryl,

Really like this one. The diagonal of the flowers to the Heron is very eye-catching. The dark textured background is great, an otherwise busy grassy area you handled so well. Love the pose of the Heron caught in hunting mode. B&W treatment is seductive. Great shot.

Cheryl, another very good image...I love the old-time daguerreotype quality you've managed...if it were mine I'd be tempted to tone down the flowers below the heron's head and neck, and above its back...drawing them more in line with the tone of those found in the LLC...but that's a matter of taste. Nicely done!

Cheryl.....very cool and I see the Audubon look you mentioned. If this were mine, I think I would crop a bit off the top to make those flowers an even stronger diagonal

Cheryl, It does have a daguerreotype quality to it as John mentions. Nice job with the filtering. Maybe a hint more detail in the flower heads? Great job.

Hi Cheryl, nice effect! Normally I don't like overly busy images but this seems to work for me. John and Bob made some good suggestions...

Very nice image and application, Cheryl.

I really like this one. If I were to modify it, I might darken the BG a little. But ... Y. I. ... Y. V.
