Another dark masterpiece. You just keep them coming one after the other. Great use of flash once again, and I love the head turn. Might be an optical illusion from the bird's angle to the camera, but looks to me as if a little CW rotate would be in order.
Dan, I love the lighting, the BG makes this guy really pop!! Excellent detail and pose. Congratulations on a great capture.

nice preening pose Dan, maybe a bit room on the left and bottom and a tad brighter overall. very nice!

Dan, I like these look back poses, and good to see the different detail and colours. With poses like this, its best to move the subject to the right, so they have space to look into on the left. The dark BG works well.
I love this light you have on this series and this pose too but I do see some noise in the bg easily fixed with NR.
With the nice ripples in front of the bird I am fine with the COMP. Perfect head angle for a preener. Yes to a tad lighter and perhaps a bit of CW rotation.
