This young fellow got tired of trudging around in the sand after his parents, and found a nice sandy depression for a nap.

Nice close-up and I like the whispy feathers on the head. The molting brown/black feather pattern on the face is nicely evident. I wish the FG sand was arching down instead of up, but obviously not something you could control!

I'm new enough here to be completely awed by an image like this. You must have been right down on the sand yourself -- great low angle, BG, fine detail. I love the image.

Bill, you nailed the exposure, and great view of the eye. Love the feather detail.

I'm a sucker for close-up head shots and this one is great! Fantastic feather detail. Nice that the eye is open and this tired youngster is not a sound sleeper!. The bits of red really add to the pop of the image.

Great low angle and nice sharp eye. He's getting so pretty.
