Image size limits have not helped with IQ ??

    Craig:

I like the wing spread, legs angled off on diagonal, clear view of head without merge with body or wings.

    Too tight at top.

IQ generally can be quite good at 200 kb with the size limits, so doubt that is the problem.

did you make a large crop? How did you resize it?

At f/4, DOF may not have been enough to get the entire bird in focus. Near wing looks sharper than head.

    Cheers

    Thanks for your comments Randy.
The 1024 crop size saved at under 200kb showed bad pixelation so I reduced it to 800, still getting some pixelation but over IQ is acceptable.
Am at my limit on the top.
It's possible the the near wing is a tad sharper but consider the overhaul bird sharpness as good, the f4.0 helped with the background

I like the wing position and angles of the head and legs. I would have added canvas up top if this is all you had. I also agree a 500 wide open at f4 would be very tough to get a 6 foot wingspan bird in focus front to back. The head could use some selective sharpening.
