Took this back in April at the local lake. Its nest was nearby, went back a few times but never did see any little ones. Applied some PB Oil.

Brendan, nice effect and image, lovely background. I might crop it a bit, bird seems a bit small but that just my oponion.

Brendan, this is a very well executed image...the BG is stunning...the branch has that sweet, soft "S" curve flowing up through the picture...and the color and detail on the hummingbird as been well preserved. I like Paul's suggestion of cropping a bit to tighten the composition...maybe a little off the bottom and an proportional amount from the RHS...well done!

Beautiful composition, Brendan. Awesome bg and I like your use of pb on the bird. Trying out alternate crop may be good idea; for me this works just fine. TFS

Much thanks for comments & suggestions - here's repost with a bit tighter crop. Liked the BG so much did not want to remove too much.

Hi Brendan, I like the OP way better.....these are small birds and it looks scaled right to me.....besides, I would have a hard time cropping those beautiful BG colors, that just make this image! It does look a bit soft on my screen.

Brendan, I love the colors and the long perch. I might go with a bit more on the bottom on the repost if it were mine. Nice job w/ the filter! BTW-Great capture!

I can see why u debated the crop. The b/g is lovely. Good capture & just the right amount of PB. Nice job, Brendan.

Hi Brendan. Gorgeous BG and comp and subject. Afraid I'm stumped on the crop. However, the OP near vertical start for the branch is very appealing to me.
