    Default Dip-Feeding Snowy Egret

Captured out at Ding Darling yesterday. This started with just a couple birds, and then expanded to about 20-30 before it finished. The entire feeding spree lasted only about 15-20 minutes. I was able to get many behavioral captures, but I don't like the POV or the bubbles in the water. I'd have to spend considerable time with a clone stamp to fix this, so not sure I'll bother. Still, it was good practice for the techniques learned in the IPT. White exposure and speed look pretty good on the series to me. This particular image was of a bird that grabbed a small crab, tossed it into the air, and gobbled it up on the fly. I got many that were more technically correct, but I like this one for the frozen moment in time. This shows better as part of a series.

Canon 1DsMII, 600mm f/4L, f/4, ISO 200, 1/2500, 0 EV (verified correct by histogram). Morning, shortly after sunrise. Unable to get lower due to location.

    Hi Bob,

Love the capture, excellent timing and exposure. I have to agree about the water looks like sensor dust! :)

Excellent timing. If it was not that spots in water it would have been a very good image.

Love the crab toss, pose and exposure, but really dislike the bubbles in the water and the pink reflection at the top of the frame.

Light, pose and details are great. The dark spots are quite distracting. Maybe you can remove them if you get a minute or two. :)
