Default Gray Partridge - male and female

While out on Sunday I crossed paths with Stephen Stephen. We decided to make a quick trip to try to locate a recently reported Gray Partridge bevy that has been somewhat reliable. As soon as we turned into the area's parking lot there was a pair of them in full view. They seem to have now paired up for the breeding season, as they were the only two to be found (the others assumingly gone to other territories). They were on an ugly and dirty patch of exposed grass, but soon ran to this snow hill. A dirty brown patch between the two birds has been dodged and desaturated and some dirt specks in the snow cloned out in order to clean-up the overall feel of the image.

Great looking pair Daniel and both with a good head turn!! I like the textured snow as a back-drop but a lower angle (if that was possible) may have improved the perspective.

I like the comp and the alerted pose of the birds. Well job on the exposure. I would love to see a little more room at the left to improve the comp.

Well done Dan. I almost posted the same image (from several degrees to your right) last night but held off. You've done a good job on snow clean-up.

Terrific! The snow makes for an unusual BG. Nice job with the exposure and composition and getting a catchlight in both bird's eyes. Very nice!
