Default Gannets from Cape St. Marys Eco Reserve

Finally getting to some image work ups from this summers trip to Newfoundland done.

I'd appreciate some feedback on this image, as I'm struggling with the crop.

    Nikon d300, 500mm f/4, 1/1000 sec at f6.3, Iso 320

    Thanks,
    Matt

    Matt:

THe pose of the two rear birds is tremendous, particularly the overlapping wings, very touching. If the IQ will tolerate, I would crop away as much as I can to concentrate on those two.
    Nice exposure.

Please include your camera/lens and post processing details.

Hope to see more from this trip.

    Cheers

Very good exposure with good details in black and white, the in focus birds look sharp as well. The interaction is over the top, very lovely. I agree about tighter crop even though I don't mind the other OOF birds except the one standing solitary on the rock in the foreground, it took a bit of attention away from the main birds.

Thanks for the feedback Randy and Thanaboon. Here is a tighter crop. It does pull the focus into the two birds much better. Thanks for the help on this one.

The courting birds are mega-beautiful but the o-o-f bird in the foreground is for me an image wrecker.... All that it needed to do was fly away.... Light, EXP, and courting birds gorgeous and perfect.
