I love this! Gorgeous habitat...I don't recall seeing something like this for a penguin, very cool. I love the grass / water. A couple of suggestions that may help strenghten the image: I'd crop away the sky as it doesn't add IMO and would make for a stronger finish at top, enhance the pupil (for web presentation), and eliminate the OOF bright grass between the penguin and right edge of frame, tone down the brightest whites on the penguins body. All else looks good, very well done!

    Stunning bird.

Agree fully with Daniel and would add one thing...I personally would blend some of the tan grasses on the dark green OOF grass near the piece Daniel was discussing. In addition, I would loose the little bit of green in the wavy grass in thee lower RH corner.

I would love to see one of these in the wild....especially in this beautiful light and setting :)

Too bad the thumbnail didn't show up on this. It's such a stunner. The colors, the pose, the unexpected habitat for a penguin. Agree with cutting out the sky and toning down the white patches. But just a beautiful portrait!

This is such a great photo.
Fantastic BG for a penquin, It looks like it was taken in the American Southwest.
Lovely light, Daniel makes some good points, but overall, just superb.

    Leandro:

We just don't expect to see a penguin in a golden grass field. Good points above, and I do think a little tweaking will help, but the bones are very good, and the scene unique.

    Cheers

Thanks for you help, it's true about the sky and the others suggestions, was very strange for me find the penguins on the grass, this is a very new colony, has about a year over there and is around 25 couples. the scientifics think that they are originally from Falkland islands. Some of you know why is not posible to see the miniature image on the principal page?
