The only other iphone 'out of the window' landscape that I thought worth posting was this scene because it looks so 'Australian' (which it is of course). I liked the 3 gum trees with their long shadows and windswept grass in the foreground. Of course the grass wasn't really windswept, just an illusion of the car speeding past. All the same, composing with a smart phone is quite difficult, I found, as I had to plan for shutter lag and the speed we were travelling. Needless to say, many are now in the 'delete' folder. It was a fun experiment and I am more open minded about the possibilities of using whatever is available to take a photo when the opportunity arises, and to stave off travel boredom. Thanks for all your forbearance .

Hilary, I think this one is a stronger image than your first I-Phone photo, and it has that classic "Hilary" look to it...great job on the background! The vignette at the corners enhances the image...I love the shadow lines from the gum trees...the grass in the foreground adds the needed depth...this is a good image regardless of the tool used. Nicely done!

Hilary, I too like this one better. It really does have your classic style. I am loving the colors and the scene very much. The softer grasses in the foreground add nicely to this. I even like the shadows from the trees. Nice work!!

I agree with John and Denise. Looks like a painting. Well worth the effort and many deleted attempts. Almost makes me want to upgrade to iphone. Beautiful!

I too agree with the above. Strong composition and excellent overall effect. The color tone is certainly your classic style we are now familiar with

Very nice image and application, Hilary.

A cheap alternative to a new DSLR!!! Looks good though, keep 'em coming!

Thanks for the comments everyone. I had great fun and although there isn't much else from that trio I'm sure to be testing my skills with the iPhone at a future time.

Thanks Cheryl and Christopher. I've spent a year trying to find a style which I can duplicate over different genres and subjects and which is pleasing to my eye. You always hope that it will be visually pleasing to others as well and although I know it isn't to everyone's taste, I feel that I'm closing in on my goal.

I have to say that this OOTB forum is THE best place to try out new ideas and processing techniques as your confidence is never knocked and you are always allowed to try out new ideas without fear or favour. Even when others may not like them, no one ever says such damning comments such as "Doesn't do anything for me" or "not one of your best efforts" which I have to say is quite enough to block the creative process for me.

So thank you to all the moderators and all the contributors here … you really are the best!

I love the scene for the same reasons given above, and your trademark processing is perfect for the image!

Lovely. I especially like the warm glow. I agree with all the comments above. I will add that I like that lone tree off to the right--after looking at the three trees, my eye goes to that tree on the right, going across the lovely landscape.

Thanks Judy, Mitch, Anita and Jay.
Jay, I've never visited Norfolk Island but I would imagine that you should get some very beautiful landscapes and perhaps even some iphone5 pix to share! My mother and sister are heading that way in January whereas I'm off to Tanzania where I don't imagine my iPhone (humble 3) will be of any use at all.......
