Got lucky with some spoonbills the other day, some great morning light and happy bathing spoonies. At first I wished for more dof but am getting used to the idea of the back bird oof. Not sure if I should have left more room top and bottom?

After posting i noticed the grass reed by the bill. I removed the taller blade.

Light is soft and nice, exposure, sharpness and detail look good to me. Shooting angle a bit high and the oof bird weakens this image IMO.

very nice behavioral shot. I love the splashes and the light. I am not crazy about the OOF bird. Did you get any shots without the bird in BG?

Oh darn . I did get some solo shots too. I thought this one to be a little different with the 2 birds.

Hi Cheryl, Nice light and action here. I am torn on the OOF Spoonbill. In one sense it adds a lot of 3D effect but also takes away from the primary subject. May need CCW. Thanks for sharing. Gary.

Hey Ofer, I gree about the angle. I am always the first to hit the ground but in this case they were at the botom of a hill in the water pond and the hill was blocked by construction fencing. Thanks for the opinions all.

Very nice image, specially the softness of the light. Have to agree with the others, the OOF bird does distract a bit.

I like the concept but pretty much what Ofer posted what was what I was going to post...plus I think it needs a bit of CCW rotation.

I would have proffered a lower angle with the m,ain subject higher in the frame whether the oof 2nd was there or not.

Also, I would loose the one single blade of grass in the upper left.
