Boy, Judy, this is really cool. Compositionally I find myself wanting a little more room on the bottom and right side so the apex of the lily pad sits a tiny bit higher in the frame. The colors and textures here are out of bounds - it will make me look at lily pads in a whole new way!

Judy, I like everything about this one except the shadow lines? Great eye for these old pads. A subject most would overlook yet you have created some beauties!

    Nice image and application, Judy.

Nice texture and colors in this image, that as Denise notes, most would pass by.

Thanks Julie! I composed it like that as, unfortunately, the rest of the pad was completely decayed and ugly.

Thanks Denise. Yes they are shadow lines as it was right next to the bank with tall cattail leaves creating shadows. I didn't think I could easily fix that

Thanks Mark. I first photographed them last summer after the lotus was poisoned at the lake and I saw all the neat colors in the decaying pads. I think they poisoned them again in the lagoon as I call it, where I shoot, or else it's a coincidence that they are all dying at the same time, while in other areas even out in the middle of the lake they are still all green. So no more beautiful blooms for me to shoot as that is the only easily accessible place to get close to them.
