    Default Scruffy

Sometimes it is easy to forget how small these birds are and what their life must be like.
An Anna on a natural perch, no flash, no anything, natural light, taken while photographing other birds.
A self critique, the focus was on the body, I sharpened the head a bit, other soft focus spots,
I cannot explain, except it is a hummingbird!
Removed a branch. I have never seen one this scruffy looking.

Nice one Dan. very nice background, very sharp hummer, love the tongue! Might consider moving her more to the right. TFS

WOW!! beautiful shot, sharp with a wonderful pose.
I agree with Gary, could do with a little more room top and left and reducing the amount of room on the right, giving more room for the hummer to look into.

Awesome pose. Maybe a bit oversharpened.

Interesting pose. EXP and SH good. The bird may have just finished a bath but otherwise does not look unduly scruffy to me.

I have no clue as to why you placed the bird so far forward in the frame. As I say and write often, nobody gives a rat's a _ _ what is going on behind the bird....

Looks a little over sharpened and I might use a little tighter crop. otherwise i like the puffed up feathers and exposure!

Alas, just trying to get a "bird on a stick", look.
Here is a bigger crop with the bird to the right and some other foliage which I had cropped out.
Probably a mistake, thanks for the comments.

Repost looks much nicer IMO. If anything would crop a bit off the top and bottom to make it more of a horizontal and save as sRGB.

Great captured. It must be quite a job to photograph these little birds. How long is it?
