Caught this guy just as he was landing to bring his lady an addition to their fixer upper :-)

Awesome as usual! Gorgeous background, sweet poses, perch is great size-some tend to be rather large. Love viewing your work.

Alan, beautiful photo, but a question?
I have never seen them here ( in the pacific northwest) with the green on the upper bill and around the eye.
    Is this a breeding trait?
I know, nothing to do with the photo, but just interested?
The BG and poses are just lovely.

Dan- Yes, the green is in breeding season.

Alan- As usual, beautiful image. When was this taken? I've heard reports that High Island has become fairly hostile towards photographers.

Hey Jeff, this was taken this past Spring. They have actually built a platform just for photographers if you work from a tripod. If you hand hold, you can shoot from anywhere. The key is to not go when tons of birders are there. (weekend in April) The birders leave 1st week of May and the Rookery is fantastic untill July.

Super action Alan with a great bg. I love the breeding colors and plumage on these guys. Looks like the nest is just getting started,

Sweet light, poses, colors, loving interaction, killer BKGR, and SH. You might take a bit off of the left side of the frame.

    Is this a set-up? :)

I am always impressed when two birds are in a shot and both are in focus. Excellent perch and background!

Another good one, Alan. Critiques are already in the pot, so I will just say, "Thanks for sharing." It is always a pleasure to see one of your images.
