    Default Greenfinch feeding subadult

    Attached Images Attached Images

Shot taken from my garden hide using sunflower seeds as bait
Canon 7D Canon 500mm f4 L IS Tripod head mounted to window ledge (much more convenient than bean bag - trust me I am a scientist!) ISO 800 -0.33 1.640 sec f8. I originally used my standard web sharpening technique but the image looked over sharpened so I have used a little less on the first pass.
I did consider removing the lichen on the left but decided it looked OK - I suspect you may disagree??
Just checked the preview and noticed a little sharpening or compression artefact around the lichen bottom left
    All C & C welcome

Great behavioral image! Love the BG and ALL of the lichens!

Seeing more of the eye on the juvenile and ideally a catch light would bump it up another notch, IMO.

Might tone down the highlights on the lichens.

    Thanks Rich
Mike your comments are identical to my original thoughts. I had to brighten up the bird on the right and I did try putting a catchlight in the eye but I made a bit of a pig's ear of it, I also toned down the lichens a bit too.
