It had clouded over at Nickerson this morning by 8am and I was heading back to the car showing Denise several Lesser Black-backed Gulls of varying ages. With nothing much to do I pointed my big lens with the 1.4TC at this young Herring Gull. I have written often, "Point your lens at a gull and they will likely do something interesting pretty quick." This gull must have read what I had written.

Canon 800mm f/5.6L IS lens with the 1.4X III TC and the EOS-1D Mark IV. ISO 400. Evaluative metering +1 stop: 1/640 sec. at f/9. Lens micro-adjustment: 0.

Don't be shy; all comments welcome.

    I especially like the eye.
The background perfectly compliment the bird.
